North
Carolina’s City of Oaks, Raleigh is the State
Capital and so much more. Centrally located in Wake
County, Raleigh is the largest city in the Triangle
with a population of some 300,000. Raleigh displays
a southern charm co-existing with a progressive economy
and populace.
With
a diverse population, and in response to Raleigh’s
many personalities, the city offers an abundance of
neighborhood styles. Older, urban neighborhoods capture
the charm of Raleigh’s southern history while
renovated factories in those same downtown areas offer
new condominiums and loft homes, as the new economy
reclaims these architectural gems from disuse. Suburban
neighborhoods, including established communities, starter
homes, new golf course communities, reflect the economic
boon that has attracted newcomers over the past twenty
years. One of Raleigh’s newest communities is
Brier Creek, with an Arnold Palmer signature golf course
at its center.
As
Raleigh and its neighborhoods have grown, the city planners
have remained true to the city’s motto. With 150
greenways, gardens, lakes, and parks, they have ensured
that oaks will continue to abound in this lovely city.
